Awareness Camp on Prosthetics and Orthotics

Description:

We are pleased to report the successful completion of our Awareness Camp on Prosthetics & Orthotics, held in Mysore. The event, supported by RLHP and organized by ABLE in partnership with UNILOG, brought together 39 participants, including health workers,

parents, and community members.

The camp was inaugurated by representatives from ABLE and RLHP, alongside the enthusiastic participants. The sessions were expertly led by Ms. S. Geethavathi and Mr. Siddhartha Sankar Tripathy, who provided valuable insights into prosthetic and orthotic devices. Special attention was given to common deformities in children, such as CTEV, flatfeet, and amputations.

Participants engaged in meaningful discussions about various assistive devices, including AFOs, special chairs, and wheelchairs. Several parents shared images of their children’s conditions and sought guidance on possible management options. The energy was high throughout the camp, and there was keen interest in future assessment programs.
