Discover how we transform lives every day!

Empowering the Will to Move with Confidence

ABLE is a non-profit organization established in 1997 dedicated to promoting equality for people with disabilities. Our major initiatives include fabrication and rehabilitating appliances, networking with hospitals, providing home-based assistance, and offering technical support in Bangalore.

Breaking Barriers, Rehabilitating Hope!

Volunteer with us

From January 2 to 28, 2025, 12 students from XIME Bangalore interned at ABLE through the Socially Useful and Productive Activity (SUPA), an initiative fostering social engagement and professional growth. Inspired by ABLE’s mission to empower individuals with disabilities, they actively contributed to fundraising, social media outreach, hospital visits, and community engagement.

A key highlight was volunteering at a mobility camp in Mysore with Sneha Kiran, where they witnessed firsthand the impact of prosthetic and orthotic aids in transforming children’s lives. We also had the privilege of working with various other passionate and empathetic interns dedicated to empowering people with disabilities. Among them is our energetic coordinator, Abu, who continues to drive impactful initiatives. Additionally, we welcome two MSW graduates from St. Joseph’s College, further strengthening our mission.

At ABLE, we believe in the power of collaboration. Whether you are a student, professional, or community member, your time and skills can make a real difference. Join us in creating an inclusive world—volunteer with ABLE today!

History of ABLE

The Rehabilitation Aids Workshop by Women with Disability (RAWWD),now known as ABLE, is a Bangalore-based Trust founded in 1997 to empower especially women and children with disabilities. The organization trains women in designing, fabricating, and maintaining prosthetics and orthotics, enabling them to create high-quality rehabilitative aids. These aids improve the lives of individuals with disabilities while fostering financial independence and self-esteem among women with disabilities.
